Fircrest

Then

Developers from San Francisco bought land west of Tacoma in 1908 with the intention of building a quiet, family-friendly community. The subdivision was originally named Regent’s Park and soon there were over 300 residents lined along it’s gently curved streets – an artistic imprint in the docile forest. In 1924, the community incorporated as the Town of Fircrest, one year after the Fircrest Golf Course opened.

Now

Fircrest eventually fulfilled its original pledge to become that family-forward and peaceful neighborhood.  Slower speed limits and a “wave-first” attitude attract young families to this area.  (The Tot-Lot is one of the area’s finest playgrounds). Fircrest is dear to me - I grew up just off of Almeda Ave. I have spent many sunny days playing at Regents Park and many rainy nights staring out into the swaying, giant trees around our house. It’s a lovely place to live.

Architecture Style

Fircrest’s flat land and tall trees shelter well-manicured Northwest, Ranch and even Bungalow-style homes.

Neighborhood Experience

Grab breakfast at the Spring Lake Café and read a book at Regent’s Park.
